Whilst many organisations claim to be different, Transitional Plus Care truly is unique. We are sector focused with over 20 years experience within the Criminal Justice System. Our team are highly experienced individuals with a wealth of knowledge and skills who have come together to provide Supported Living, Offending Behaviour Programmes and Community Interventions for young people who need our help.

We now have an exciting opportunity for Support Workers to join our team and work in a Transitional Independent Home for young people who require specialist care and support.

In this role you will be working in a residential environment providing the highest levels of person centred care with the aim of bettering young people’s lives and enabling them to safely live independently. You will be working with young people to develop their life skills, supporting them in community and home based activities, engaging them in programmes and providing general support for their day to day needs. You will play a key role in young people lives, and as such you will really have a chance to make a difference to them and to the community in which they live.

This is a rewarding position that requires a passion for caring for people as well resilience. Flexibility is a must as you will be required to work shifts to ensure the best quality care and support is given to those who need us. You must be able to work at least one overnight shift per week. This position also requires a high degree of reliability; and some experience of using information technology.

The successful candidates will need to possess the following:

  • A relevant qualification in Health and Social care (at least NVQ Level 2) is desirable or be eligible to work towards this (i.e. NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care).
  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults or children within a similar setting. Will also consider those with experience of working with young people in other settings such as leisure centres, youth centres and the prison service; as well as applicants with a background in mental health.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding within Social Care settings.
  • A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.
  • Applicants must be passionate about working with young people, and must be reliable. Flexibility is also a must.
