She has extensive cross sector experience in the education, welfare, protection and rights of children, young people, families and communities. Her specialist areas include child protection, safeguarding, child sexual exploitation, looked after children, children of imprisoned parents, female genital mutilation, gang affiliation, domestic violence and violence against women, promoting emotional, physical health and wellbeing of children, young people, families and communities and meeting the needs of carers.
She has worked with agencies across the criminal justice system including The London Probation Service and Her Majesty’s Prison Service designing and delivering training for frontline professionals and voluntary sector organisations delivering services within custodial settings and assisting with the resettlement of offenders in the community.
In addition, she has provided training for volunteers and professionals working within the field of Social Care and she is renowned for hosting workshops, seminars and speaking at conferences throughout the UK and Europe. Occasionally, Annetta is a guest lecturer on Social Science and Criminology Courses at various Universities.
She currently works nationally as an Independent Safeguarding Advisor, Consultant and Trainer. Her role includes facilitating bespoke training for personal, professional and organisational development. She assists with ongoing development and implementation of policies, procedures and best practice.
The principles of Human Rights, Equality and Anti-discriminatory Practice underpin her delivery. This enables her to provide recipients with the cultural competence they require to engage and deliver services to diverse communities. She describes herself as an Ambassador for equal rights and justice for everyone, from the cradle to the grave.
